As you probably already know (especially if you have been following our blog for a while now, or know us in person), the Cacciacarro family, and especially myself, (Hannah), love "thrifting" and redeeming things that some would otherwise consider garbage. Last year we started a series, outlining the various different projects that we were working on, one being an old desk/bookshelf that we had sitting in our garage for years. It is a very old piece, and was showing it's age (especially since it hadn't been maintained). After some sanding, small repairs, and TLC, it's original beauty started to appear! Here we are now, almost two years later, and finally it is being put to good use. Mamita insisted that we "drag" it in from the garage (where it had been sitting ever since we finished the work on it), and try to rearrange our furniture to accommodate it! What a great idea!! (plus, we are always looking for more places to put our always-growing library:)
What do you think of the unfinished drawer? Some in our home think "Artistic & rustic", but there are other opinions as well... We may end up painting it in the end, who knows.

Also attached are some photos of another project that we recently completed! The large dining table that is always being used in our home. Especially since we love to entertain large crowds on a regular basis, more than one table is a must! The finishing on the top was starting to look a bit rough, so we decided to do a quick sanding and oiling to bring it back up to the beautiful condition that it used to be in! Doesn't the wood grain and coloring look so gorgeous!? The oil that we used really brought out the natural colors of the wood...
Anyhow, I hope you enjoyed having a little look into what we are working on at this moment! We will be sure to be back with more photos from our trip to Europe, as soon as Abby has a moment to compile everything (I believe it is her "turn" to post:).
