Winter is back with a vengeance!

Greetings from snowy Toronto Canada!

Just when we thought spring was here and we were busy decorating our home with "springy" things, and looking forward with anticipation to seeing all the new plants sprouting in our garden, plans changed! Winter returned to Toronto with a vengeance, like a vicious lion dumping snow on us for the last three days. 

Well on Monday, Mama came barging into our room in the early morning announcing that it had snowed again and that she thought we should get out of our warm, cozy beds and prepare ourselves for a "winter" photoshoot. She reminded us of our desire to take winter pictures in the event that at some point this year we decide to record a Christmas CD, we will have the graphics ready to go! We have received many requests and suggestions that we should record a Christmas CD and last year we worked on and perfected seven movements from Corelli's Christmas concerto along with many familiar Christmas carols and hymns. It makes sense that at some point this year we get into the studio and record them and then perhaps we can produce the CD. It's just that by the time we are reminded of the idea of a Christmas CD, we are usually in our busiest season of entertaining and playing at events. So, long story short, we prepared ourselves and off we went to find the "perfect" spot to take our pictures ... from Mississauga (Adams Estate) to The Liberty Grand (on the grounds of the Canadian National Exibition) and finally settling on High Park which is affectionately known as the "lungs of the city" because of its vast number and array of trees and open green spaces. High Park is Toronto's largest park covering more than 399 acres. It was bequeathed to the city by a wealthy land surveyor and architect in the mid 1800's. If you are ever in the Toronto area, we highly recommend you take a few hours, pack a picnic lunch and explore the park. From Grenedier pond to the live working zoo; from the formal English gardens to the intriguing "castle" playground you won't be disappointed!
