Next sewing project completed ....

Well, here is the next of the sewing projects that were accomplished this week in our little "sweat shop" ... first you will see an outfit that we posted on our Pinterest of an outfit that we really liked. Since we didn't want to spend a lot for that gorgeous brocade fabric, we looked in our stock of fabric to find something similar, and to our amazement, we found some custom made curtains that Mama had made for our living and dining rooms some twenty years ago. The fabric is gorgeous, and they were beautifully lined so we didn't have to buy lining either ... BONUS! Just in case you are wondering, we had to remove all curtains and carpets when Gabe was in isolation receiving high dose chemo for his brain cancer if we wanted to bring him home for a weekend visit so, they were taken down, washed and stored never to be returned to the windows; we rather liked the windows without curtains!
The second picture is taken without the jacket so you can see the detail of the dress, and finally, the third picture is with the jacket Hannah plans to wear with her new dress to church on Sunday! Our favorite thrift shop had jackets on sale for 50% off last week so Hannah picked up this coral one for just $4.00 and the shoes for $7.99. This is indeed a "thrifty" new outfit for Hannah. Great job!

(The jacket looks more pink in this picture, but it is actually bright coral)
