Our parents made a donation to Ligonier Minstries last month and received an entire curriculum of a survey of Church History taught by Dr. W. Robert Godfrey. There are seventy-three 22 minute messages in which Dr. Godfrey shows why a working knowledge of church history is relevant to our personal lives, and to the church as a whole. The twelve CD set begins in A.D. 100 and finishes in year 2000 by covering everything from the expansion of the first church, the crusades, the reformation, Puritan piety and politics, Wesley and Whitfield, Charles Finney, the church in Europe, the church and Islam, and Reformed Christianity to mention just a few topics!!! WOW! The set also comes with MP3 and study guides. Doesn't that sound amazing?
We will attempt to complete one message each night before our dinner, and that will give us a chance during our meals to discuss what we are learning . We will also use the timelines you see in the photo to compliment the study and give us a visual of church history through the years.
We love history and especially church and music history. This was one of the highlights of our family trip to Europe this past summer.
It is indeed HIS story!!!
