A Time of Testing

We have not posted in some time since we have been taking care of our little man, Gabriel. He had been experiencing headaches and vomiting intermittently over the past couple of months and to our surprise, this week he took a turn for the worst. After taking him to the Hospital for Sick Children emergency to be examined, we were shocked to find out that our little man had a brain tumor the size of a clementine on his brain.

Emergency surgery was done on December 3, 2010 (yesterday), and he is now in the Critical Care Unit recovering. He has been so calm and in fact, he was wheeled away for the surgery after informing me that he knew he was sick and that he was going to have an operation and after the operation he would hurt but that he get better after that. He has been amazing! The peace that surpasses all understanding ... only the one true God can grant that! I will post pictures of him after he is up and about. We are praying and trusting God during this very difficult time. To walk by faith is what we are doing. Please pray for our family.

A friend gave us this scripture to comfort us:

Hear my cry, O God;
Attend to my prayer.
From the end of the earth I will cry to You,
When my heart is overwhelmed;
Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
For You have been a shelter for me,
A strong tower from the enemy.
I will abide in Your tabernacle forever.
I will trust in the shelter of Your wings

Psalm 61:1-4

  1. Oh, wow. We will be praying for your son.
    Praise God that you can rest in the Father's love for your boy, which is even greater than your own love for him. Please keep us updated.

  2. We'll be praying. But isn't it comforting to know that God is in control in EVERYTHING?

    Love,
    Sydney, for all of us
