For those of you who answered Plymouth Massachusetts ... you were correct!

We took a family field trip to Plymouth last week. We visited the Mayflower, Plimoth plantation, the Pilgrim Hall Museum and many other interesting spots. We loved the plantation as the workers pretended they were actually living in 1620 and it was fun to see how they lived way back then. We all agreed that the museum was also one of our favorite sites as they gave each of us a book of papers with a treasure hunt in it. The treasure hunt was geared to your grade and it asked many questions about the art and facts about the things they had on display at the museum. It helped us to learn and enjoy the museum! One day we went to Cape Code and on our way back we visited a cemetery to make "rubbings" of some very old gravestones. The oldest stone we saw was dated 1734 ... isn't that amazing? The history in this area of the United States is so rich. It is a great place to visit if you want to learn about American history.

Our parents have taken us to see many places in Canada that we have studied in our Canadian history such as the ruins of the first settlement in Newfoundland (the Vikings settled )and Port Royal (settled by de Champlain).
